CHAIR LAB (Collaborative Humans Artist-in-Residence) is the passion project of five artists who make, exhibit, teach, and administer in the arts of Southern Oregon. We have experienced the power and value of art in community and believe in its relevance today and in our rapidly shifting future.

A lab is a place of curiosity, discovery, cross-pollination, and generative experience. The open nature of these CHAIR labs allows for more collaboration than a typical residency and more flexibility than a workshop. Each lab features a unique approach aligned with that of the artist host.

Intended for working artists interested in experimentation and open to sharing, CHAIR LAB aims to make accessible, inclusive, and affordable experiences that foster the exchange of different perspectives, ideas, and approaches.

Hosting a communal workspace creates bonds and innately encourages collaboration through process and shared space, building community which ripples out into the world.

What happens in CHAIR LAB lives beyond CHAIR LAB!
